27 wks

Well, I am now 27 weeks along in this pregnancy. Next week I start my 3rd trimester. I must say that I have been too busy to even remember that I'm pregnant. The lovely heartburn does a a great job reminding me, though. I was complaining to Ben the past few weeks that I'm SO much bigger this time around than I was at this time with Samuel! He wasn't convinced. It wasn't until I looked at this picture of me at 28 wks that I think I finally convinced myself that I'm just about the same. It's amazing how easily I forgot exactly just how big I got toward the end of my first pregnancy!
And here I am at 27 weeks this time...
With being so busy and not having much time to think about decorating the baby's room, I must admit I was recently inspired by a $5 crib bumper pad at Target. It is brown on one side and pink with pink, brown & sage green polka dots on the other. So, after that purchase, I have finally decided on colors for the room. The walls were already a sage green so I'm going with sage green, pink & brown. Now I just need to get a few more accessories. Hopefully by the time the baby is here the room will be finished... :)

Samuel turns 2!!

Life has been passing us by very quickly these days and so it wasn't a surprise that Samuel's 2nd birthday crept up on us! I honestly cannot believe that he is 2! It is such a joy and privilege to watch him grow. He is now more boy than baby which is hard to fathom at times.

Updates...
He loves Thomas the Train & Sesame Street. Each morning he asks to watch "Sesameeeee". He sleeps with Grover, Elmo & Cookie (or Cooshie) each night in addition to a giraffe, a tiger and lately an added moose. We often hear him saying things like "grrrr" through the monitor in the morning when he's talking to his animals.

He knows all 26 letters of the alphabet and numbers up to 10! He loves letters so much that he takes the "bath" letters with him nearly everywhere. They even made the trip to the doctor this morning. His favorite letter is "O" and his favorite color is red. The first word out of his mouth when we greet him in the morning is "red". This means he wants to wear a red shirt. Since not all of his shirts are red, we have to persuade him that orange or yellow or blue are just as fun. As long as there is some sort of animal on the shirt, he agrees more easily.

He is picky eater which presents some challenges but then again, you have to look at who his mom and dad are. Ben & I are both picky eaters so it just makes sense.

We took him to his 2 yr doctor appt today and is very healthy. We are so thankful! He now weighs 27 lbs, 12 oz & is 33.3 inches tall.

Christmas

We had Christmas a little early due to traveling to St. Louis to see my family. Ben got a nice Lionel train set from his work Christmas Party. Here is Samuel seeing it for the first time.

Samuel loves to play with his "friends". Here he is rolling up his friends in the OSU blanket. He often makes Mommy & Daddy have a turn rolling in the blanket, too, but that won't be on video anytime soon. :)
