January has been a month of firsts for Samuel. He had his 1st birthday, spoke his 1st word, and even began walking alone! He is really on the move now! He's getting more stable as he walks, but every so often he starts to lose his balance & looks like a drunken sailor.

Samuel loves to say BUH-BUH-BYE. He says it all the time and even waves, too. He also says it for hello. He loves to play in the tub. He splashes constantly and

Ben's mom visited this month. It was great to have her visit. Samuel really enjoyed having "Baba" around!

On another note, we are officially done with bottles & formula. YIPEE!!! Next step...getting rid of the pacifier. Soon, very soon...

Samuel was a little hesitant of the cupcake at first, but then realized it was really good & dug right in. He ate a little bit of vanilla ice cream, but only after it sat at room temperature a bit.

Birthday Party

We had a small gathering of close friends last Sunday afternoon for Samuel's 1st birthday. He enjoyed himself and REALLY enjoyed the cupcake! Samuel's Grandma came all the way from Washington!

It is very hard to believe that Samuel is a year old today! Where did the year go?!?!?!? It was a year of firsts. It was a year ago today I first saw him, first held him in my arms & told him I loved him. Ahhh, it has been such a good year! Samuel is an absolute joy and has been a fairly easy baby. Ben & I are enjoying parenthood & watching him grow. I am amazed at how quickly the year has gone but more amazing to me is how little I remember of it. He has changed so much in the past year. He now walks, babbles, smiles, laughs, sleeps through the night, etc.

I can only imagine the changes to come in the next year, but I look forward to more sweet memories.

Samuel loves his cousins!

Ben was showing Samuel a picture of his cousins Kyra & Kameron. When Ben picked up the picture frame Samuel leaned in and kissed the picture. It was so cute. Here he is doing it over and over.

Samuel is walking!

Samuel has been taking a few steps here & there since before Christmas. This week he began walking across the room. He's so proud of himself!! Let the fun begin...
