Rocky Mountain National Park

We met Heather and family at Rocky Mtn National Park for some hiking which included getting absolutely SOAKED at the end of one of our hikes by the quick afternoon shower. Samuel thought it was funny until he realized he was cold. In the chaos of getting soaked, I didn't manage to get a picture but we definitely have a fun memory. Poor Ben had to run the last quarter of a mile with Samuel on his back!!! We also drove a bit on scenic Trail Ridge Road which goes up to 12,000 feet elevation. Here are some photos...

Visitors

This summer is the summer of visitors! So far my friend Jana & her boyfriend, Rusty came to visit the end of June from Memphis. Then, a few days later, my highschool friend, Heather & her family came to visit from Ohio. It was a crazy few weeks but so fun to catch up! I didn't get a picture with Jana (I need to get better at that), but we did manage to get a few pictures with Heather and family. More visitors later this summer...

Zoo videos

Here are 2 videos of Samuel at the zoo. The first is of him feeding a giraffe. His reaction is quite amusing. The other one is of him playing in a tree. He gives the mommy bear & the cub a kiss - too cute!

Denver

We got tickets to see the Seattle Mariners play the Colorado Rockies last Sunday. We decided instead of just going up for the game to make a weekend trip out of it. So, we headed up to Denver on Saturday around noon. We went to the Denver Aquarium. It is really a neat place and pretty big! They have different areas - rain forrest, North American plains, etc. Samuel enjoyed all of the fish, but he did not like the man dressed up as a shark! He is VERY afraid of mascots. So, we dodged the shark whenever he came our way & all was well! :)

After the aquarium, we went to Park Meadows Mall and then dinner at PF Chang's -YUM! Sunday morning we hung out at the hotel pool. Samuel had not been in a pool so we weren't sure what his reaction would be, but he absolutely LOVED it! He enjoyed splashing and playing with a few other kids and their football!

It was fun to go to the game, but challenging with a 17 month old that doesn't want to sit for very long periods of time. We had every intention of staying until the 5th inning but with the dark clouds looming, we decided to leave during the bottom of the 4th inning. Thankfully we made it to our car and on our way home when tornado sirens sounded. We then heard on the radio that they were evacuating Coors Field. Glad we left before the mass exodus of people. Unfortunately the Mariners lost but overall, great weekend!

Choo-Choo

Here's Samuel enjoying his new Leap Frog train set. He loves to dance to the music & then walk on the tracks to block the train. He likes to do this over and over and over again. :)

Memorial Day Weekend

So, I'm a bit late on posting about our fun weekend with my parents & my niece, Addyson. They drove out from St. Louis over the holiday weekend. Addy was so excited to come to Samuel's house! We all had a great time! We went to a play center at Focus on the Family, The North Pole Amusement Park, Garden of the Gods & the zoo.

Mother's Day

I had a great 2nd Mother's Day! Ben watched Samuel while I headed to Starbuck's for my fav - white chocolate mocha. Later in the afternoon (amidst gray skies & 50 degrees) we went to the zoo. Samuel had a blast as usual. After the zoo we ate at Chili's & stopped by DQ on the way home to get a blizzard. What a great day! Here are some pics...
