Washington Trip & Grandma time

We've sure had a busy last few weeks! We went to Washington to visit Ben's family for a long weekend. It was so fun to have Samuel & his cousins, Kyra (5) & Kami (16 months), together and to see Ben's family. The kids were so much fun! Kami & Samuel were non-stop entertainment!! Kami was very interested in Samuel at first but Samuel wasn't as impressed. I think it is because he has 2 little girlfriends at his sitter's house so he's used to girls. By the end of the weekend, though, they were head butting (their way of hugging) and Samuel was generously giving Kami her pacificer.

While there, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the local community center. It was Samuel's first Easter Egg Hunt and he really enjoyed it! Of course he called all of the easter eggs "balls". He would put a few in the basket and then start to take a few out. Poor Kami was sick so was unable to come with us so Samuel and Kyra shared some of their "loot" back at the house with her. Kyra enjoyed making bunny ears and participating in some of the games they had for the kids.

We had a great time, but as always, it was good to come home. The best thing about coming home was that when we arrived at the Denver airport my mom was already there! She flew out the same day. (Samuel saw both of his grandmas in the same day!) She came out to watch Samuel for the week while his sitter was on vacation. It is always nice having an extra hand and Samuel enjoyed the extra attention.

Zoo

We bought an annual pass to the Colorado Springs Zoo so we can take Samuel as often as we like and for as long or short as we like. He really loves animals, especially the giraffes. He enjoys the real ones, but his favorite thing to do at the zoo is to touch all of the the giraffe statues.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Samuel has some Irish in his background so we thought we'd give him a taste of what St. Patrick's Day is all about. We went to the parade in Colo. Spgs on Saturday. It was a beautiful day! We watched it from the staging area (a block before the official parade started). While waiting, the cows from Chick-fil-A & the chickens from Wild Wings n things danced to "YMCA". Sort of ironic since Chick-Fil-A's theme is "Eat Mor Chiken"! Very entertaining!

St. Louis

Samuel & I traveled to St. Louis last week to visit my family & a few friends. We had a great time & Samuel did VERY well on the plane both ways! Addy stayed at my parents house most of the time so her and Samuel could spend a lot of time together. She was quite the little helper! On Wednesday we enjoyed a nice day at the St. Louis Zoo with Brad, Addy & my mom. Samuel loves animals and enjoyed Uncle Brad showing him around. Brad & I took Samuel & Addy to the Magic House on Saturday which was a little chaotic with kids running around everywhere but fun. Oh, & I got together with some old friends, Susan, Marcy & Tami at Dressel's Pub in the Central West End. It was fun to catch up with them!
