Dear Samuel, Month 40

Dear Samuel,

You, Olivia and I traveled to St. Louis to see family last weekend and you loved every minute of it (well every minute except when we talked to daddy on the computer and he showed you your little froggie - then you broke down).  So thanks to daddy I had 10 fun minutes of trying to calm you down. Needless to say, we will not talk to daddy on the computer while out of town again. You played a lot with cousin Addy while in St. Louis. 

On the plane ride home we talked about seeing daddy after we got off the plane. So when we walked to the train, you told a random woman that "I'm going to see daddy!" You said it with such excitement, everyone around us smiled and laughed.

You are now speaking in sentences and expressing your feelings. You tell daddy and I when you are sad, happy, angry, etc.  I often tell Olivia that she is so pretty. Well, lately you will randomly say, "Livi is so pretty." I love it!

Wow, could the past year have gone by any faster?!?!?!?

One year ago you were placed in my arms & my life will never be the same! You are my little sweetheart. I absolutely love watching you grow and learn new things.

You are nearly walking, have 8 teeth, and are beginning to say a few of your own words like "dat" for cat. I cannot wait to see what your second year has in store.

Dear Samuel, Month 39

Dear Samuel,

You amaze me each day with what you say and do. There have been many days lately when I just laugh out loud at the surprising things you say. You are turning into such a handsome boy!

You started playing soccer at the YMCA this month. You absolutely LOVE it. The first time you weren't so sure about only playing with one ball -  you wanted your own. After practicing and a few more tries, you quickly got the hang of it. You love to just run around and around. Most of the time you have no idea where the soccer ball is, but you don't care. This week, however, you kicked the ball a few times so I think you're getting the hang of it. Your daddy & I love to watch you having so much fun. Each week we ask if you want to play soccer again and you say YES! No matter what you do or where you go in life, your daddy & I will be your biggest fans!!

Dear Olivia, Month 11

Dear Olivia,

You are just too cute! You can now stand on your own for a few seconds. In a matter of weeks you will be taking that first step! You love to laugh and play with your brother. It is hard to believe that in less than a month, we'll be celebrating your first birthday! You just started saying "cat"!! You love your cat, Beren!
