Pretty much since Samuel was 8wks old, he would only wake up once around 4 or 5am to eat and then return to sleep until 7ish. Ben & I alternated nights so each of us got a full night sleep every other night. Then starting this week, Samuel's new sleep schedule is bed at 6:30 or 7pm and up around 6am!!! We were ecstatic the first time it happened!! He did this 5 nights in a row until...last night. We have no clue what the problem was last night...he woke up every 2 hrs until midnight and then finally slept peacefully until 5am. Maybe he is teething? I have no clue if that's supposed to happen at 4 months (I need to read one of my first year books). He has been drooling a lot lately and was unusually crabby off and on yesterday so maybe...
We'll see how tonight goes...

Oh, the blessed memories!! Jillian got her first two bottom teeth when she was 4.5 months old. Sound's like you're making major headway in the sleep department. Awesome! Hopefully last night was just a fluke.
Hey girl- Could be teething or an ear infection?!? Crabby during the day and then the bad night that same night could be either of those. I think it's definitely possible for him to start teething then. It can take a while for those little teeth to push through the gums, so you may not even see a tooth for a few weeks or so. They say that the first tooth is especially painful because they've never experienced it before, poor babies! We give Joel tylenol whenever we think he's teething. Joel was a serious drooler when he was teething, especially before he was a year old. Samuel is really cute! =D Amanda
Sarah got her first tooth at four months. It definitely happens! The only two reason Sarah would wake up crying in the middle of the night would be teething (which usually would cause her to more wimper rather than full blow cry) or ear infection. Sarah's other clue that an ear infection was coming was that she wouldn't eat as much but I can see where teething might bring that on too... good luck figuring it all out!!! :)
